The 250 has a reasonable step up in power combined with a good slug more torque so should be a touch more economical as it isn't trying quite so hard, especially with the 7+ speed box.

Also, it's a fair bit heavier than a Zafira

The E Class estate is one of a few more modern ('10-'15) cars I would consider...
