After 5 years and 36000 miles this is what I found.

Following a wash and a dry it is now as clean as a virgin's honey pot.

Replacement not necessary, I think.

Slightly darker on the other side. It was still a little wet when I took the photograph.

So one side was darker than the other  Which side was the inlet

It is if you buy a genuine filter instead of a eurocrap one

The airflow arrows were at the bottom of the filter pointing toward the interior of the car.

Yes, although it is hardly white on either side.

I thought that these filters were supposed to be grey.

I rest my case, genuine would have been a tenner and in stock it even tells you which way round to fit it

But it did come in a nice green box and i got to have sex with the delivery woman
