Title: Hermes
Post by: BazaJT on 08 May 2019, 07:50:09
Ordered an item off e-bay at the weekend and opted for click and collect option to my local Argos store.Got in last night after a day out to find I'd received an e-mail from Hermes to say the parcel had been delivered, but I'd had no notification text to say it was at the store.Went on Hermes site to check tracking of parcel and according to them they tried delivering it yesterday afternoon but I wasn't in :o Well of course I wasn't in I don't live in the Argos store where they allegedly delivered it :D Anyway they are supposedly going to try to deliver it again today, will be interesting to see what happens this time :-X

Note to self, always choose the alternative courier if Hermes are the senders first choice ;)

Even if it costs more. The benefits are worth every penny :y

Hermes generally couldn't deliver a box in a warehouse without something going wrong.

They are just useless, pathetic excuse for trying to be a Courier Company, Ive had more trouble as a Receiver expecting stuff to arrive in the last 12 months than all of the Others in my Lifetime, sick to death of them, oh, did I say they were Useless.

From an eBay point of view I always ask the question now with the Seller, Please dont send via Hermes, I would rather pay a few quid more and get it sent by A N Other, but the usual thing I get back is " Oh Ive never had any problems sending stuff with Hermes, there wonderful", yea right, Try receiving stuff, Oh and did I say they are Useless.

Can't say I've had one from them in a while.. most people seem to use DPD these days (or occasionally UPS or FedEx)

Aldi use Hermes to deliver small items here. They can't really go wrong as it's just a local fella in his Daewoo that drops it off.  ;D

That sometimes happens if it's the first post on the next page, it shows on the front page as the last reply, but doesn't actually appear until someone else posts. JAIME!!!!!!!!!!!

No,       .......Oh I did I mention there fukcing useless  >:(.

Maybe its just me then or my Area, never seen the Hermes Delivery Man (or Woman), never seen a Card left by them, never seen a Van, never heard any Door Bells Ring when Ive supposedly not been in to accept there Delivery, never actually Signed anything that I haven't received despite the Seller saying its been delivered and Signed for.

Their on my Bucket List of Places to Burn Down and People to shoot before I leave this Planet, as far as I concerned there fukcing useless.

Actually, having said all that, I did find a Boxed Nokia Charger in the Front Garden when trimming the hedges one day, dated about 9 months earlier, not one of mine, never Ordered it, but it did come in handy.  ::)

I think where several of the carriers use local last mile delivery people, it is very dependent upon how good the local delivery agent is. Touch wood, I had no problems for sometime and I average one or two deliveries a week, sometimes more.

Usually order online from Aldi if a special offer I want is large or heavy. The most annoying thing with Aldi is that you get the email on the day of delivery & where I have all emails going to my PC with its large screen size, if I've had an early start on a day out I don't know about it to change the delivery until I get home. :(

I had a window blind (house, not car, so ~2.5m long box) delivered once that clearly had fork lift tyre tracks across one end of the box ... they have no shame at all! (Don't think that was Hermes, maybe DPD)
