I might come over and give you  a race in my FRENCH CL-Eeyore diesel hatchback. Talking of which, I fitted my Kenwood DAB which I removed from the 190 into it today. Nice to double the car's value in a few hours

Apparently so given the amount of time you spend in 1.0 Focuses every year ;D

Ignoring the fact the Focus is shite, for what it is, the engine is quite usable.

Although nothing is faster than a hire car, obviously.  Not even Imber's 2.6

Mrs Builder returned with smoke spewing out the engine bay on the astra estate
up it went onto axle stands, oil dripping off the AC compressor onto the exhaust  ::)
above the AC compressor is the oil pressure switch ,very common for them to leak on Vauxhalls
had to take the aux belt off and move the AC compressor to get at the bugger  :(
fortunately had a switch in stock ,washed off the oil with carb cleaner
hopefully all sorted now  :)
the pointing brickwork after lunch should sandblast my oily hands to clean again  ;D

I reckon that shifted quite well once it was on those conveyor belts in the Beanz factory. ;D

Or even the boss,s car with a tank full of Diesel - when its an Audi 3.0 DTi,  S line, le Mans, special edition, Quattro, with flappy paddles to encourage thrashing.
Much fun was had that day. I was almost glad the Omega alternator went pop on the way to work.

Swapped the Focus for a couple of buggies for the day.  I'm sure that amount of fun isn't legal.

There's actually two things faster,

4 scaffolders at 14.30 leaving site to get to the pub.

A tang on A75 going for the Friday boat, with the switch on.

Thought I could smell a faint but familiar whiff of engine oil last week. Yesterday I noticed a small pool of oil underneath the front.
Here we go again. Pulled the o/s coil pack and sure enough, the plug wells are full of oil. Cleaned the breathers, then dismantled further and removed the cam cover.
Rooted through my boxes of bitz and found one last pair of new gaskets, but only 5 o rings. Found some more o rings the same diameter in another box, found my old tube of black goo to be still soft and set about cleaning and reassembling.
All done now, don't need it tonight as I use the welsh hatchback for work, so will leave it until tomorrow, then start it and hopefully find no more oil leak.
n/s gasket was changed a couple of years ago, but pulled the coil pack out to check, and was glad to see it is dry as a bone.
Planning on welding replacement metal into the spare wheel well soon, then remove sill covers and see what I find there.
It will then be MOT time, so possibly more work to come. No rest for the wicked according to swmbo.
