Title: I like living in Barnsley

The brakes on my car have squealed since I got it. Not enough to annoy the neighbours, but enough to annoy me. Took it to a local indie garage for them to strip/clean/adjust, whatever. Dropped it off at half ten this morning and waited at home for the phone call. He rang me about one o’clock to say it was ready.
When I got there he said he could find nothing wrong. He cleaned them off and put some copper grease between pads and calipers and, after a quick drive they seemed ok. I asked him how much that would be and he said.....nowt, lad, it didn’t need any parts. I gave him £20 for his trouble and came away amazed. The brakes now seem fine.  :)

But does Barnsley like you living there ?  :D

My local garage is the same tbh. Very helpful, knowledgeable, only makes any money out of me when I pay him for MOT, but doesn't minding helping in any way if I ask.

Barnsley is just the same as my wife. Very lucky to have me.  ;D

The guy who looks after mine is an absolute diamond. Only does whats needed doing, MOT, only pay if work required, checks all my new (to me) cars FOC. Hope he keeps going till after i hang up my gloves. ;D

It is good when you find a garage like that,my Merc goes to my local Vauxhall dealership for its MOT test they always looked after my Omega when I had it , and don't look for unnecessary work , great waiting area with drinks (free) and mags + viewing area , also probably helps that the manager used to be a neighbour until recently.
