Title: headlight position
Post by: raywilb on 10 November 2017, 20:08:19
after a prang & having put on a bumper the plastic trim underneath the doesn't fit .  I have noticed the headlight seems to be to far in on the side that's next to the grill, when I measure with a steel rule from a point on the washers to the lens there is a 20mm + difference to the other h/l. I got the reinforcing with the brackets attached so that's ok. so I guess the H/L needs to come forward a tad with the lens tilted forward. just how I'm not sure.

do you mean the bar behind the bumper , if you do all the pushfit rivet holes met up as they should including those 3 underneath. when the bonnet is shut at the wing side its ok but at the bonnet side the lens seems to dip in & ends up behind the line of the bonnet

No, I mean the slam panel...

You will find that the vertical portion adjacent to the radiator is creased where it is welded onto the inboard edge of the chassis rail...

About 2" down from where the inner edge of the headlight rests against it
