Hi does anybody know the part number for the plastic trim clips that are used on the Omega estate. For the part that sits just above the rear bumper, but below the rear light, and run around the rear quarter of the car.

Omega General Help / HBV 2.2 Deisel

Can anybody point me in an urgent direction.
I have a 2.2 Diesel and my HBV is leaking. All the ones I've seen have 3 pipes coming off. Mine only has 2. Therefore I'm struggling to find a new one.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

After pondering on what to do I've decided to keep my Omega for a few more years (if it ain't broke don't fix it). She's a clean tidy car with very few issues. Got a few little things I'd like to do with her, Stainless exhaust being one, but will be kept fairly standard.

Omega General Help / Fan Temperature Switch

Hi all again.
After my trip to Devon (lots of hills) from the flatland of East Anglia I've noticed that my temperature guage appears to be rising above the "norm". When I say norm, I mean as it did prior to my trip to Devon. So just looking for a bit of advice really. Whilst on my way to work tonight, sat at a set of traffic lights the guage slowly Rose to just under 95 on the guage then dropped (assumed the fan kicked in then) to 86 ish.  It always used to sit at a steady 86/87 irrespective of being stationary or not. Is this normal?
When I got to work I left my car running, popped the bonnet and waited to see if the fan came on, yep it came on just fine, but this time at about 92, then dropped to 85.
Am I right in thinking that I should perhaps start looking at changing the fan temperature switch?
I regularly check (at least once a week) oil and water levels and they are as they should be.

Omega General Help / Aerial

Hi again all.
Before ripping the old aerial off the roof and replacing with a shark fin  (due to spoiler fitting), are there any other suggestions? Also, does anybody know if I would I need a powered aerial or normal aerial for a 2003 CDX Estate with a Philips CCE 2006.

Yesterday I had my front wishbones and rear doughnut bushes replaced. Big thanks to Serek and his crew for carrying out the work, made it look so easy. Now for two new tyres.

Omega General Help / Bodywork side skirt

Hi all.
In need of repairing a rusty  (could be surface rust) sill on my 52plate estate. I can see plastic pop rivets underneath, is that all that holds it on?  I've sussed out how to remove the rubber strip. But can't find anywhere indepth on side skirt removal. Does anyone have a breakdown on how to do it.

Also.............
Is anybody local to Peterborough who can recommend a decent bodyshop if the job is to big for me?

Omega General Help / Additives

Hi all
My car runs fine and HD very regular services, it's a 2.2 dti. A few friends use a couple of different brands of fuel additives in there engines. Has anybody got any opinions on this, are they worth the mone. Will they do as they say on the bottle??? Increase response, fuel consumption and so on.

Omega General Help / Spoiler / Windows Tinting

As some may know I'm loving my new ride. A few jobs to do on it but nothing major  (I hope).
After showing swmbo a few estates like mine, she like the roof spoiler and the window tinting. Anybody on here know the best place to get a roof/boot spoiler from? Now window tinting I can get done, although it's not cheap. Do we have anyone on here who is a dab hand at it?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / heated seat smell burning.

Hi.
Switched my heated seat on tonight and it got warm and then a sudden smell of electrical burning.  Immediately switched it off. Foolishly tried again ten mins later and got the same smell. So obviously not blowing the fuse. Omega 2.2 dti cdx
Is it worth removing the fuse?
If so. Can anybody tell me it's location.
Any suggestions as to why this may happen, as I can't see any smoke or burnt wiring?

Hi all.
Being a new omega owner, I'm sorting out the little bits with the help and knowledge of you guys.
My first question is: Do the wing mirror backs unclipped,  if so, How? They are in need of a respray. Which ties me in to my paint code question. I have a code of Z380 which has two names. Green Mick Metallic, or Krypton Green.  How do I know which one it is.

Hi again.
I've got an advisory on my MOT and did notice a slight knocking this evening.  Could anyon tell me if it a single ball joint or complete arm. If I hold the wheel and and rock it I can hear something knocking. The advisory was this:

nearside front Suspension arm has slight play in a ball joint (2.4.G.2)8

Hope someone can advise. I seem to recall the bloke I bought it from telling me it was a top Ball joint. I've also noticed it doesn't matter which side of the car I rock I get the knocking noise. Any ideas on cost etc?
