Omega General Help / Battery losing charge
« on: 13 November 2019, 20:34:09 »
Hi,

My Omega needed jump starting last week. I thought it may be a one off but the next day it wouldn't start again so i replaced the battery. Now the same thing happened today with the new battery. Managed to jump start it with a booster and it has started fine the couple of times I have started it today.
It seemed to definitely be a battery issue but now I'm not so sure. Is there anything obvious to look for that may be draining the charge?

Thanks,

Stu

Hi,

Not too far from West Midlands would be good  :y (but not essential)

Thanks

Omega General Help / Omega seat wiring
« on: 18 May 2018, 18:52:07 »
Hi,

I have fitted my old Omega seats to my Bedford CF2 van. My question is, how do I wire it up for the electric height adjustment to work? As in, exactly which colour wires need what connected to them? I can't translate from the Haynes wiring diagrams  ???

Thanks

Omega General Help / Very uneven tickover
« on: 17 April 2016, 19:51:06 »
Hi all,

I have done some work on my car, involving removing the plenum and fuel rail. On reassembly, the tickover was very uneven, especially when cold. There were also some initial popping noises.

I then removed everything again, checked it all over (all seals in place and looked okay), and reassembled. However, the problem is still there. I also have a code 38 (O2 Sensor 1 Circuit Voltage Low) coming up.

Any ideas of the most likely cause of this?

Thanks

Omega General Help / Foot area heating stuck on hot
« on: 12 June 2015, 17:45:17 »
Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else on here has had this problem. Regardless of climate settings, the foot area is always getting hot air. I have read the guides about passenger side/drivers side not working correctly, but can't see anything about this problem. I have tried the climate reset.

Any ideas would be much appreciated  :y

Omega General Help / Recommendation for head gasket change
« on: 20 November 2014, 14:35:15 »
Hi all,

I am looking for a recommendation for someone on here to do a head gasket change on my Omega 2.5V6.

I have stripped the car down as a start, but would like someone experienced in working on the V6 to complete the job properly, as I don't really have the available time to complete the job before xmas  :(

The cam belt, cam belt covers, sprockets etc are all off. I have all the parts including a full head gasket set (including cam cover gaskets etc), new bolts, water pump, thermostat....

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

Omega General Help / Starting troubles....
« on: 06 March 2014, 15:12:05 »
Hi all

Over the past few weeks, my Omega (2.5 V6, LPG converted) has been a bit slow on starting. It then got worse a few days ago. I read codes, came up with 19, so replaced the crank sensor.

However, the problem is still there. I did forget to replace the vac pipe on the fuel pressure regulator, so thought that might be the problem. I replaced that, but still no joy. I am thinking it must be a fueling problem as the car runs fine on LPG (once I can get it started and switched over!)

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

Omega General Help / Running rough
« on: 01 February 2012, 17:27:24 »
Hi
Car cut out and the 30 amp fuse under th bonnet blew
It restarted and is now running very rough and EML is on
Codes 48 and 81 are now showing
Is this likely to be coil pack as I am thinking?

Omega General Help / Rear track control arm
« on: 28 September 2010, 20:48:20 »
Hi,

My car failed its MOT on "excess movement in rear n/s tie rod". Does anyone know where to get the track control assembly (or tie rod end) from?
I have been quoted £82 for "Rear Control Arm, Part no. 90497197", which I thought was quite high.

Thanks

Omega General Help / no heat!!!
« on: 29 December 2009, 10:56:18 »
Hi,

My heaters are stubbornly refusing to work.
The bottom pipe going to matrix (in cabin) is only warm, but the top one is hot. Does this mean the matrix is blocked?
If so, how do the pipes on the bulkhead come off?
They seem to be held with some kind of plastic clip....
Thanks in advance.
