Omega General Help / EML light

My 3.0 elite doesn't get out much these days (too many cars, too little time!) but was out in it yesterday & the emissions light came on quite a few times, not constantly on, just flickering quickly, then off, then back again. Didn't seem to be speed or revs related, and eventually behaved itself. No rough running, misfires, etc and no codes stored. Any ideas, guys?

Hi all, being doing a couple of jobs on the Omega today and by chance discovered that only the offside front & rear window close by holding the lock button on the ignition keyfob. All four windows work perfectly from the master switch on the drivers door, and from their own switch on the relevant door but the nearside ones wont close using the keyfob. I have reset each window by lowering it then raising it and holding the switch up for a couple of seconds when the window is at the top. Not tried the sunroof closure with the key yet in case it stuck open!
Car is a 2001 f/l Elite 3.0
Any thoughts would be welcome.

The airbag light is on permanently on my FL 3.0 elite, due to a fault in the passenger seat child seat sensor. A tech2 session wouldn't reset the light, and I assume you cant just disconnect the sensor, so what would be the best way to sort this? Is it possible to change the airbag ecu to one from a car without the sensor, or does anyone have a black leather fl elite passenger seat available?
Any help/advice would be most welcome.

I have a fault on my 2001 3.0 elite that will become a problem with the new MOT regs that are due to come in 2012.
The  airbag warning light is on, due to a faulty child seat detector transponder in the front passenger seat which would cost approx £300 + labour to replace.
Does anyone know how to disable/bypass this sensor so the airbag light will work normally ?  I have been told it is programmed into the ECU and cant be removed, but it is a rare option, not many Omegas had this fitted.

Anyone come across this before ?
Driving home from Warrington earlier. about 15 miles, a warning popped up in the display "headlamp range" several times which disappeared when I clicked "OK", only to come back 5-10 mins later. Dip beams were in use at the time, the car is an '01 3.0ltr Elite with xenon lights, so obviously no manual headlamp range adjustment. :-?

Are there any common problems with heated (leather) seats causing them not to work? I've just got an '01 elite which seems to have led a sheltered life but none of the heated seats work, front or rear, & I'm sure no-ones even sat on the rears! All the switches illuminate, but I've not had chance to check for 12v or open circuit at the seat connection plugs yet. I assume there is a timer relay somewhere, do these give problems ?

Hi to all, new to this forum & I've a question already!
I'm about to aquire a '01 3.0 elite from a mate, but it has an airbag fault light that wont reset with Tech2. The fault comes up as 'child seat sensor' on the front passenger seat. Does anyone know if
a) the sensor is unplugged, will the light reset?
b) which is the plug (there are about six under there !)
c) is there any other way, other than replacing the sensor pad.          
    (app. £300 from Vx !)

Omega General Help / Boot release switch

Help ! I can't open the boot on my facelift Elite until I take the keys out of the ignition, when it will open with the dash switch or the key fob. My mates Elite of similar age can open the boot by pressing and holding the dash switch, even with the engine running.
Which one is right (not mine I think!) and how can I change it ? Is it a Tech2 thing ? [smiley=undecided.gif]

Omega General Help / Headlights

I' looking for a replacement o/s headlamp for my '01 3.0 elite as the current one is full of condensation and the levelling motor has packed up.
Can anyone tell if the pre facelift lights are the same as the later ones as these seem more plentiful, or has anyone got later type available ?
