well my son has reached the grand age of 16 and yes its school prom season, Limo companies charge mega bucks and most of my mates have old bangers,
Swmbo suggested i call my mate who works for a car delivery company and his boss is very much a petrol head and he owes me a favour or two. One call later and a choice race rep v8 series monaro or evo 9 and he has the cheek to say which one is the best !!!!!!  Have i taught him nothing.

well for those of you that looked at my first post on the bad experience i had at my local dealer here is part 2,
As said my motability car was delivered without parking sensors as ordered no problem said the dealer we can fit them. well NO
duly booked in today took it in at 8am ready to pick up at 12pm. called in at 12.30 only to be told it will be another hour, This is the start of the slippery slope two hours later the car rolls out from the workshop with four parking sensors that stevie wonder had painted white to match the car,the car was wet so i drove it home and didnt check before i left big mistake got home only to see three sensors as one had fell of on the way home a hole that had been cut with a file so was oblong and not round hence the sensor fell out,upon further inspection found where they had slipped with the drill and tried to cover it up,
so back to the dealer post haste steam from both ears to be given an appology and said its never happend before now it needs a new bumper another set of sensors and a bumper repaint and people ask why i never used to use main dealers.
anyway does anyone know if my sensors are genuine vauxhall as the pcb pack says META

well i ordered my motsbility car in january did post about delivery times earlier,Anyway the car arrived this week and i have just collected it Happy NO !!!!!!
went to get it today only to find the car has been delivered without parking sensors as ordered and the nearside front alloy has been kerbed, Dont wory the salesman says we have arranged for the wheel to be repaired and we are going to fit the parking sensors when they arrive.
Hey a brand new car alloy wheel repair and then some spotty faced wana be mechanic drilling holes in the bumper words just fail me,!!!

Well having my omega trashed last year by a d/d eventually got the insurance money so decided to get another car,
Finances not good and health no good i opted to go onto the motability scheme again. so spent the day today going around dealers test driving cars eventually swmbo and myself decided on the vauxhall astra sri as its a no deposit,Just couldnt believe it placed the order was told it would be a factory build as vauxhall no longer stock new cars and then told me delivery 06 june.
No wonder the car industry is in such a state 4 months for a vauxhall i excepted this for a merc or bmw.

General Car Chat / Mondeo 3 zetec engine noise !!!!

has anyone got any ideas waiting for the right mig to come up after the d/driver wrecked mine i have a mondeo 3 zetec 1.8 with the duratec engine,Its not a bad car but its developed a cam sort of tapping ?? Its ok when you first start up from cold very quiet but when it warm its starting to sound like a quiet diesel,
I have taken the auxillary belt of and tried and its still there so thats the pulleys water pump etc out of the question.
If you stop it for 15 mins then start up its quiet but soon taps again i have changed the oil done an engine flush and put the correct grade of oil back in it.The car has done 90k genuine milage so its not had a hard life.
if anyone can help with just an idea please as to start spending money on cams or engine rebuilds just puts a mig back even further.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Fuse keeps blowing !!!

Has anyone got any ideas my 02 2.6cdx has started to blow fuse 15 (30A) its done it twice now and it cuts the car out completly, I have looked at the usual chafed wires etc but no joy, ok its taken two months between but if i had any hair i would have torn it out by now. It hasn't stored any codes either, Any ideas

Well let the kids get something from the car last night and they left the interior light on, Low and behold flat battery this morning no probs started first turn with jumper pack the only issue now is the radio displays SAFE have tried all that is says in the book but safe will not go so i can put the code in Any ideas or is it f****d ??

Any ideas anyone my electric sunroof has a mind of its own.I drive around and the sunroof opens and closes and when it is parked with the ignition of it opens. Tilt only

Hi all have today given the car a good clean and usual checks but EEK found creamy cover on oil cap,oil o k on dipstick runs fine no water loss,coolent water not discoulered, condensation i'm thinking wll hoping

Omega General Help / Rumble when cold/cambelt

got my 2.6v6 which is fab but over the past 2 weeks(cold weather i must say ) when i first start of get a rumble like a flat tyre but not,after about three miles and when the car is warm its fine, Gearbox oil i'm thinking ? Tyres are all new, also changed the cambelt in may 08 at 52k now done 77k local garage advises me to change again what do you all think ??

Hi can anyone help i have a 2.6 v6 cdx omega and the temperature guage has decided to play up,the car runs fine but the guage only just moves from the stop. the temp inside the car is o k and the car drives o k hoses seem hot under the bonnet oh its an 02 model,

General Car Chat / OMEGA NOW GONE TOTAL LOSS !!!!

Well as i returned from two great weeks in yorkshire on hols with family i pulled up to my house with a sick feeling,My beloved mig was parked outside my house with the rear end smashed in, I felt physically sick i walked and opened the house front door to find a letter from plod asking me to call them, going straight for the phone called them only to find a young lad drunk driver had hit it,After going down to see plod to get insurance details etc i thought at least he was insured,
Well monday morning on the phone to insurance company within an hour the car was collected, and taken to the approved repairer, phone call tuesday from repairer they think its total loss insurance company will call,
Today thursday they called its a total loss. boot,boot floor etc,  now for the blow 2002 52 mig 2.6 cdx 82k fsh
settlement £1180
excess compulsory £250
excess voluntary £100
installments still  to pay on insurance £76
private plate retention £105

gives me a grand total of £649 to buy another car
well to say gutted is an understatement o k i will try to recover expenses from his insurance company but at the mo
no car and no cash oh i can buy it back for £450 but its just not worth it,

Just had a shock left the steering on full lock when i parked the car up and eeek tracking must be out one tyre nearly on canvas other wheel not that far away. 5m otherwise as my general finances at the mo are zilch i have been offered part worns for £25 each fitted. Whats the general feeling on part worns ??
