3000 hours as an F/E.
A REAL trade.. (but only 3000 hours!! get some time in son !!)
plane named after my great great grandad !
I'm also interested because I'm currently doing *ahem* some work on it's successor.

QuoteI think the heads will stay where they are!
It cant be a bent valve, the compression is to good.
This, allied to the stiffness in rotation, does still suggest FOD inside trying to prevent valve opening fully.

Hi
Just wondering what sort of job the fan belt is to change on the 2.5td.
Mine looks pretty worn so if its not a big job might aswell change it.
Cheers
Has anyone had the gearbox ecu updated on a tractor(2.5td) if so was there any difference in dropping 2 gears going uphill.
not to bothered about economy getting about 54mpg breifly on a flat bit off motorway at 55 (lol) normal 26-37mpg
QuoteQuoteThat's probably around the right MPG for a TD tractor auto on a combined cycle. Chipping, in my experience, upped MPG by around 15% (actual), but made the FC inaccurate (over read by around 10% as a guess).
Chipping mine definitely reduced my MPG by about 10%, but as you say the computer says it is better - it lies!
Yes definitely here as well, also clouds of black smoke from exhaust when I booted it, well more than should be.
Anyway chip removed....better mpg, smoke almost unnoticeable. Back to normal, slug like acceleration
Apparently I may have had the wrong chip, so will investigate that one
