General Car Chat / Eternal DTi Exhaust
« on: 18 July 2011, 20:51:04 »
Ordered Monday after 8pm GMT, arrived am today, can't complain about that!

Quality looks excellent with decent gauge metal on the pipes and a proper clamshell centrebox.

This will be fitted to Mrs VXL V6's estate and the cat will be gutted (rude not too) in a few weeks when I can book some time off from work.

Not sure if anyone else has fitted a diesel exhaust system from Eternal but if interested i'll report back on how well it goes together.  :y

General Car Chat / Met police driver training

Quite a few marked and unmarked Omega's in this vid.... looks like a time when Vauxhall SVO was a big supplier to the Met.

General Car Chat / OBI WAN - There can be only one
« on: 05 October 2010, 19:04:23 »
Had a drive of LooKnee's Car today, this is the facelift MV6 that replaced Vader.

Long time since i've driven a V6 manual but this car is completely effortless, it pulls through the rev range without hesitation and the power delivery never seems to stop, it really doesn't matter which gear you have it in.

Daz posted a thread a few weeks ago about which car to keep, the estate or Obi...... well I don't care what anyone else has said, Obi has to stay, it's a cracking car, a one off.

KEEP OBI!!!!

General Car Chat / Corsa D wiper problem
« on: 10 September 2010, 20:34:20 »
Dad's Corsa D has a slight problem.

When the screen is wet and you need to have the wipers on full speed the drivers wiper blade hits the A pillar.

There is hardly any tolerance to move the arm down lower at the stop position as it would then catch the bonnet.

Corsa-D forum seems to suggest that there is a possible wiper motor fault.

VX also supply two wiper blades 650mm and 660mm...  ::)

General Car Chat / LPG question
« on: 08 May 2010, 23:04:15 »
Purely out of interest, how is the system earthed to stop a static discharge happening?

Is there some earth bonding point on the tank otherwise if the tank is painted / powder coated surely the tank straps/frame/bolts to chassis aren't doing a lot?

General Car Chat / Huge thanks to TB
« on: 27 April 2010, 22:49:11 »
Just wanted to say a huge thanks to Jaime for enabling the Bose on my retro-fitted head unit in the tractor, one of those five minute jobs that turned out to be a little longer than five minutes....... ::)

Thanks also to Mrs TB for the supply of tea!  :)

General Car Chat / Tata Safari blank key
« on: 05 July 2009, 17:34:42 »
As OOF seems to be the fountain of all knowledge I thought i'd ask here!

Other than a Tata dealer does anyone know anywhere that can supply a blank key for a Tata. tried Ebay with no luck.

Needs to be the sort that you can put the immobiliser chip in - looks very similar to a Cavalier / Carlton type key.

TIA
