I came across this stuff locally made and got to say it's the dogs danglies, like when you walk round a posh hotel and the floor feels " spongy"

General Discussion Area / Trade insurance quote
« on: 25 August 2011, 17:47:24 »
Well I finally got round to getting a traders insurance quote: I currently pay £690 for fully comp cover and the trader quotes are as follows, Fully comp £1220, 3rd party fire and theft £790 and 3rd party only £690. These are for a £5k indemnity and I can have as many cars as I like.

When I was looking for standard insurance earlier in the year 3rd party F+T was more expensive than fully comp but i'm leaning this way as the Miggy is near worthless anyway I think I will settle on 3rd party with F+T.

I was surprised at the prices being fairly reasonable and expected it to be worse, how do they stand up to others who have trade cover?

Well she came in, fixed it in around 40 mins! Fantastic  :)

Trouble is although database is back, I still can't get the system to work. The company i used to work for is down to 5 people now, I'm doing the jobs of about 10 people.

I have root access to boxes I really should not be messing with  ;D

Going to try dialling in again tonight.

On the upside I was allowed to expense beer for everyone helped me so far, it turned out to be a rather heavy night  :-X

I've also learnt loads of new Linux stuff, being on my own, I'm forced to understand new things and work problems.

I used to only just dabble, restarting JBoss on RedHat was about as hardcore as I went, but now I'm rebooting the entire servers & services, full access to server room  :D
:o :o ;) ;D

Aren't they the best? Not spoken to one in a over a year, but I accidently managed to corrupt a Sybase database today  ::)

Maybe because I physically rebooted a blade I should not have done  :-X

Despite swearing black and blue at my screen it could not get the database back.

So an old work mate is popping by at 7:30 tomorrow morning to help me fix it!  :o  :y

Was getting worried, if this system could not be restored, my little job on the side would be no more. But hopefully it will be back and billing some chavs by lunchtime  :D  ;D

Yet again I am completely lost by this tech speak! Sounds tricky though ;D

I'm so glad that our closest neighbour lives some 400 yards away. People are not designed to live on top of each other.

i wouldnt mind nicole kidman on top of me  :P

Too scrawny for my taste Richie.  ;)

cant beat a nice bit of ginger  :) :) :)

I'll agree on that point Richie. A nicely tended ginger minge can be quite inviting. :y :y

Where the hell was this dragged up from? Incidentally the car went for £120 to a Skoda fan and I saw it on the Formby bypass a couple of weeks ago
