« on: 20 June 2014, 11:52:23 »Cant have Tax and no Insurance, as said, £100 fine by post, but in realality youve got about 30 to 60 days before they get on your case.
just had a snooty reminder from dvla, to remind father that the vehicle needs sorn or taxing, or else a fine, ta, etc expired 31st, letter arrived 19th. So 19 days not 30to 60.

The kenwood/trio had 100w amp built-in as did the sommerkamps,think they were a re badged kenwood.
my transceiver of choice due to cost was a multimode 2 or a jumbo.
as for mobile linears had a few, ct163x,B300, had some that i cant remember the name of,built in cooling fans etc, all 12v.
and the antenna was a 9ft 1/4wave whip. (no coils)

« on: 20 June 2014, 08:54:13 »Never been on CB, did speak to a bloke in the States when we were mobile in Epping Forest coming back from the Pub one night quiet a few years back on 10 metres SSB though.us to use ssb on a regular basis, 500w pep valve linear, or if mobile 9ft qtr wave whip, and 1200watts pep.

400 miles and 8 hours of driving for a 20 minute consultation.
and there's me moaning about my 1hr on the bus to the hospital.
