Fixing TVs can be quite enjoyable. More so than watching them sometimes. :-/

Yep. Don't be so sad. Spend all your evenings in the garage swearing at bits of car instead. >:(

We only had 2 options with the estate really. Bolt it to the tow bar or punch a hole in a body panel. There's nowhere on the bumper that you could get away with it.

That is rediculous. What have dogs got to do with it?  ;D

It's probably the case that mechanics get to hate LPG cars just because there are a couple of extra pipes and wires that they don't understand under the bonnet. They only see that side, not the cheap fuel.

Hmm. I don't buy stories of the engine not being "used" to LPG. The engine is a collection of bits of metal after all. I doubt its' memory is that good. ;)

On a serious note, plenty of members are running V6s on LPG and I don't recall hearing of an LPG related problem. Do your homework and choose carefully and you'll be fine. Don't be swayed by installers who say they can do it in a day. It takes time to convert one properly.

You could always DIY, of course. That's one way to ensure it's done to your satisfaction.

What kind of problems what he referring to?

There can be problems with anything, but it's mainly down to the quality of workmanship. A conversion that's done well will not cause any issues at all however if it's bodged it can open a can of worms.

Not sure there is such a thing as a 'bad' ISP, just an 'unsuitable' ISP.

There are ISPs with bad support though. They have customers who have never needed to contact support and ex-customers. It's true that you have to match the product with your needs, and the confusing way in which all these "unlimited*" products are marketed means that can be difficult.

A little more costly than most, but I've been with Zen http://www.zen.co.uk/ for years and they are really very good. Only time I've ever had a problem it's been down to BT and everyone gets the same grief from them.

The connection has always been quick, very, very rarely ever goes down and there's a 20 Gig / month allowance on the MAX product I have rather than any dodgy throttling, etc. That's more than enough bandwidth for me. If you want something you can cane 24 hours a day it might not be for you (having sdaid that, my parents have a Zen connection which my little brother used to abuse horribly, with never a complaint from Zen).

They don't look great on a Lexus, IMHO, and look considerably worse on anything else. Everyone's different, though, as mentioned. :y

The 1.4 and 1.6 heads are the same, the cams are the difference, so i have been told

Could be. Maybe the extra volume is in the pistons on the 1.6s. I don't know that engine at all so I could have been talking cr@p.

Start with something simple like the coolant temperature sensor. Make sure the wiring buzzes through to the right pins on the ECU. If one side is grounded make sure it has a low resistance back to the battery -ve terminal and that it sits at 0v WRT the battery -ve while the engine is running.

Combustion chamber volume in the head would probably be larger on the 1.6, so it will have lost some compression. Wouldn't expect it to throw trouble codes like that though. From the number of sensors complaining I wonder if a ground connection on the engine loom has been missed?
