Omega General Help / Wishbones
« on: 18 January 2011, 11:45:15 »
I took my car to the garage today just told them issue with steering/ suspension. After 2 hours checking the brakes steering front and back bushes subframe springs shocks. He came back and said it was the left front wishbone. That is the second pair of aftermarket wishbones i have fitted. I asked him if he could fit vx bushes to the wishbones on there and he said he did not want to incase didnt fit. He surgested getting a secondhand vx pair and putting in new vx bushes. My question is this a good idea and where can i get a pair or should i get another pair of aftermarket ones and if so which ones. cheers Paul.

Omega General Help / cam gasket
« on: 29 December 2010, 00:34:42 »
Hi anyone in my area able to come to me and do my cam gaskets + breathers again as not done right last time. I would now like to give it to somebody who knows the cars rather than keep paying out all the time. The reason asking to come to me is because car still has steering issues. Cheers paul

Morning thanks for all the advice. Just a little bit more info:
Tyre pressures are set at 30?
while driving the car will try and follow any road inperfections e.g after the cable companys have been in.On a nice flat road it runs smooth bt the steerring wheel is still held to the left. also i do find the back has a life of its own. It feels like its squatting at the back and very figity.
Thanks chris will pm you in jan if thats ok dont want to risk it at the moment.

Omega General Help / driving issues

Hi I read on here that you should really only fit vx wishbones as the rest dont last. Question is it possible to get a pair of second hand ones then put new vx bushes in :-? I can not afford new vx ones. Also how do i know if my steering idler is going. Iam asking this because when iam driving i have the steering wheel straight one minute the next minute i need to pull the steering wheel to the left to keep it in a straight line. I have spent money tring to get my garage to fix these problems but it just seems to be getting worse. Iam pulling my hair out because iam not happy in driving it more than about 10 miles so i could not get it to WIM to get a full check. Sorry about all of this but i was hopping somebody could give me some advice. Ps I have changed the wishbones twice now. got them from allparts.

Omega General Help / Tick over
« on: 21 December 2010, 12:08:43 »
Morning this might be a silly question but due to this lovely weather we are having i  cant just get into the car and drive away. According to the handbook you are not aloud to start the engine and let it tick over while iam cleaning off the snow. I dont know why :-? and if i do will it cause problems. :-?

cheers
Paul.
