Photo Hosting - which one??
« on: 24 October 2006, 17:38:36 »

Hi guys,
just wondered which photo hosting sites are the most popular on here? I've been using photobucket but I'm not too keen on the fact that the link gives access to all your pictures. Any suggestions for easy to use ones that only allow the chosen pics to be viewed?

Cheers Jim

All I'd say is that of you have albums you want private I think you can apply a password so they remain private?

Photobucket used to offer that not sure if its now limited to full members?

I think the point that mijfife is making is that photobucket allows access to all of your pics

Yep Bo Bo, that was the point i was trying to make  :) I know it's easy to use, even for someone as computer illiterate as me, but I'm looking for something that I can control the pics I was to show to different people, if such a thing exists.

The bucket is usually the best. Not used it myself but everyone i know that doesn't have almost unlimited hosting at their disposal raves about it.

Just had a play with photobucket and found out how to control which pictures I show.
First, you tick the box under each picture you want to show.
Then click on the box at the bottom ( Generate HTML and IMG code)
Next, go for the fourth box down (IMG, images for message boards)
Simply copy and paste the links from this box into your message and up they come  :)

e.g.

If I can do it, it must be easy  ;D  ;D

Thanks for the help, especially to Andy for pointing me towards the tutorial section!

Cheers Jim

I had to vote for "I don't post pictures" 'cos I must be the only one on here that doesn't possess a digital camera - still use an old fashion one with film :-[ Suppose I'll get round to getting one sometime.

You're not wrong there Captain :y The bloody little sod knows far too much but comes in damn handy at times ;) He's actually gone for his second interview with Rackspace (a huge data centre in London) today which will involve sorting out and maintaining their IT systems (if he gets the job).
He'll be on a fortune if he gets it too - means he can start paying me back for all the years I've kept him!! :y ;D ;D
