Listened to a debate today on Radio 2s Jeremy Vine show, and the topic was should prisoners be given the right to vote. At the moment they don't have this right but under EU rules this is against there human rights.

What shite the EU and there human right laws are, as prisoners whatever there crimes are the mere fact that they are serving a custodial sentence means they have broken the law and this in my opinion means they loose all rights connecting them to the way the outside world is run.

So for what it,s worth should this subject be put to the rest of us for voting on i would be putting my x in the no box.

There is another consideration.

If the prison is located in a marginal seat then the voters(if the prisoners get the right) will become very important. Will we see the candidates campaigning in the prisons?

An easy solution would be to give them the right to vote in person BUT if they don't turn up at the polling station then tough luck .

No, definitely no vote if they have been convicted, but if on remand, then yes.  For me it is as simple as that!

First reaction is no.Prisoners give up rights when found guilty.However do you apply this to some old dear banged up at voting time for not paying council tax,after all they broke the law and were found guilty.

   No way at all. They have commited a crime against humanity, so, they no longer have any human rights.

No exceptions old dears or not, once behind bars all rights gone imho.

Some namby pamby human rights lawyer stated on the news that if we don't give lags the vote then thay can sue the tax payer (US ) for compensation, not only that but Strasberg will fine our government (US) millions! WTF
