Can you test if these are working correctly. Also anybody got a link for replacing the bulbs as mine dont seem as strong as the elite i just sold

I had exactly the same issue. Mine are osram bulbs and no doubt the originals. I beleive they do get dimmer with age but replaced one bulb for comparison purposes with another philips spare i had. No noticeable difference. It was whilst doing this that i noticed one of my headlights had the common broken adjuster fault so whilst this was being changed i took the oportunity to clean the glass projector head and the muck that came off it was quite a lot and appeared to be making the glass cloudy. After reassembly the light was definately brighter and more defined. If you chenge bulbs you must use a good brand .such as osram or philips  idealy. The cheap ones are notoriously inferior apparently and watch out for fake osrams or philips.

They degrade over time, so at 13yrs old, they'll be knackered - even though they aren't "blown".

Buy quality brands from reputable suppliers (ie, not egay/amazon marketplace etc )

This is what i originally thought too. But after swapping one bulb for a known good and much newer bulb there was no noticeable difference. Although to be fair the omega lights arnt the greatest and even the girlfriends 07 clit with normal bulbs has much better lights. Although in this case this op has an audi which ive no idea how good or not thry should be. I assume they are projector type too ?

My estate had one xenon that had gone almost orange n colour as it was so old. Other was yellow. Cost me best part of £80 for a pair of good brand replacements, and that was five years ago

Try it again with a brand new, branded, from a reputable supplier bulb

Trouble is, when you've owned one for a while, you don't notice the degradation, and with nothing else about, they seem "ok".  But with oncoming traffic, you release you're not really illuminating the road.

I knew that they degraded, but thought mine were still OK (no pinkish tinge, they struck quickly etc), it was just I couldn't see with oncoming traffic.  New set of bulbs cure all that, even though against the garage door, they seemed no brighter.  Old bulbs were original, approx. 15yrs old.

TBE is now exhibiting the same, that's 14yrs old.


To the OP, Audi A4 from that era are on a par with Omega HIDs - not the best by a long shot, but perfectly usable.
