Omega car cover??
« on: 25 September 2017, 07:11:21 »

Need to move one omega out of the garage to get another one in. Can anyone recommend a decent car cover or a link to where I can buy it would be great. I'd prefer some thing that I can tie underneath if possible rather than just the elasticated versions as it's fairly exposed where I live. Tia

I'm always cautious of Covers. No matter how well you secure them they can run.

May be better to give it a good coat of polish and leave it out :-\

Failing that, I'd be looking for a breathable one with a soft lining to minimise the risk

Yep, they are fine for keeping the dust off under cover but a different matter if the car is parked out.

Firstly, you've got to stop it blowing away, somehow.

Secondly, it'll flap around in the wind and chafe against the paintwork.

Thirdly, the damp will get under it and linger, causing the interior to get damp and mouldy, possibly the exterior too.

I think I'd do as LD suggests and give it a good coat of polish.

Thirded... my white one was never covered, but I kept it spotless inside and washed every month to keep it clean, and through the winter picked all the leaves off it on an almost daily basis.

Also disconnect the battery, but make sure that the drivers door lock works off the key first.

Okay guys, thanks for the advice. Seeing as I'm not keeping the car myself and only keeping it until the new owner makes space for it I'll just leave it out without the cover. Didn't think a cover would do as much damage but sounds like I'm better off without it . Thanks.
