The regulations allow for up to 2500 litres per year of personal use before any duty is payable. A rolling 12 monthrecord of use needs to be kept for the unlikely event where someone asks to see it.  ;)

I'm reading this whilst on the potty, "regening" last nights Lamb Naga.

To quote DTM, there is definitely a sting in the tail  :'(

Back to the thread ::). Coming back eastbound on A14 this afternoon, a 55 reg Passat estate joined from the slip road about 50yds in front of me. He accelerated away to get into the outside lane and an almighty black cloud of soot/smoke poured from the exhaust. Does this indicate that the DPF has been tampered with or removed? ???

55 plate won't have a DPF, introduced around 2008/9 ish.
