Perhaps he has chosen a British family classic. A Morris Marina or Austin All-aggro perhaps. ;)

If not how about Italian?

Alfa Romeo make some nice cars these days.

The engine is French? XF maybe, little options for RWD not BMW/Merc. Can't see you going Lexus!

3.0 diesel is way to pricey to run with my annual mileage so its a 4 pot 2.0 163bhp (but still 0-60 in 8,2 seconds so not to shabby).

The 2016 model year is 200kg lighter than the earlier version with longer wheel base (same body length) and different rear suspension system, so the reduced power is not that noticeable.

Same engine size as my astra and about the same bhp. Mine is marginally slower to 60 but, then again, I never though I’d be comparing it to a jag. ;D

The kids are a bit older so the need for the mum bus has somewhat expired......and I thought I deserved a bit more luxury  :y

My customer has one of these - in that config, it flies!

We regularly do the Limerick to Cork run, no real dual carriageway to speak of - so I’m also impressed with the brakes, get used more than they would if I were driving - to be sure  ::)
