My 89p Signum festoon bulb from ECP has arrived.
« on: 20 November 2017, 11:59:22 »

Bulb in jiffy bag, which was covered with bubble packaging and then placed in a large cardboard box.

It arrived undamaged. :)

Where is the profit in this?.

89p becomes 74p after VAT is taken by the slim ghoulish looking fella who lives at number 11.

Out of the 74p we have to figure in the cost of the cardboard box, the cost of the jiffy bag, the cost of the bubble wrap.

We also have the cost of the bulb itself and the delivery charge.

What company supplied that Opti?

I would give them feedback on their stupidity and commercial incompetence.  :-* ;)

From a customer point of view I can't complain, Lizzie. It cost a paltry 89p arrived promptly and was well packaged.

From an environmental point of view there is an awful lot of waste that is clearly not good for Mother Earth.

From a profit/loss point of view I can't see where the profit is. :-* :-* :-*

I would imagine, if you were planning to move house, this could well be the cheapest way to purchase packaging  ;D

Could it be that they have standad boxes, regardless of contents? I purchased 3 x 5 litres of screenwash and the courier brought two similar-sized boxes to Dr. Opti's, one with two bottles and one with a single bottle. Good boxes, too - very useful!

Ron.

Exactly as with me.

Strange thing was that all 3 bottles of screen wash fitted snugly into one box.

And that is where I would have to step in as my natural want!  Then charge them for my consultancy fees! :D :D ;)

Someone at ECP was stood there scratching his/her head wondering how to package Lord Opti's item and then had a lightbulb moment!  :)

You're really not grasping the cost to them, are you ;D

Last time I ordered anything from them, it was 2 wipers, one oil filter, and some screenwash (that is utter shite, and not cost effective).

Came as 5 separate parcels over the period of a week. The wipers came individually, with the oil filter arriving before them, and the shit screenwash last as 2 separate parcels (presumably to get under a weight limit). All delivered by DHL

Actually, even if you weren't moving it's cheap packaging for anything.

I think that it's actually a hint.  ::)

Did you find the little note at the bottom of the box which reads " Buy more next time you tight bastard! "  :)

Liverpool Steve would have sent back the old bulb saying it got broken in the post due to inadequate packaging, please refund my return carriage and send a replacement. ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

Last thing I bought from their alter ego, I paid for next day delivery as I was going away... Arrived six days later >:( gave them as shite feedback as could get away with after having requested a refund of the postage costs... Apparently "Useless onanists" is acceptable feedback ::)
