Agree with the above. Sack him on grounds of stupidity. I’m also not mad keen on the idea of him using public funds (salary, prime London office space, heat, light etc etc) to w@nk himself silly.

The touching of the knee is all post-Weinstein(spelling?) hysteria. And I speak as one of the Snoflake Millenials ;)

The copper involved is seriously out of order on this, however once Pandoras box is opened there's no going back.

In my view, he should - be sacked/resign/whatever at least for sheer stupidity

1) For doing it

2) For not clearing his browsing history !

My understand (could be wrong) is that most of the "images" were thumbnails.

EDIT
PS: I'd also bet that this has resulted in a huge number of MPs/Public Servants etc of all political persuations trying to frantically cover their tracks.
He had pictures of thumbnails ? i thought it was porn  ;)

Surely it is easy to block such material? When I was working at a college, I had a group of graduates on a project, and one day one of them came to me complaining that he was researching for the project and the computer blocked him.
"What were you searching for", I asked.
"Analogue circuits", he replied.
I pondered, then fell about laughing, to the mystification of the student.
When I had recovered, I explained that the IT filter had reje=cted the "anal" in analogue circuits!

Let us be clear on what has happened here.

In 2008 "porn" was found on Damien Green's computer.  The police have agreed it was NOT illegal content, and had nothing to do with their search of his offices, which were NOT carried out under the force of a warrant. No court action was ever taken against Damien Green.

Two former senior police officers made it be known that "pornography" had been found in 2008 on Damien Green's computer.  There actions were in contravention of the Police Code of Ethics (Section 7, Page 11) which strictly prohibits the disclosure of information gained either on or off police duty to an unauthorized recipients, which is also in breach of the Data Protection Act 1998, both of which I have had to sign in my police support role:

http://www.college.police.uk/What-we-do/Ethics/Documents/Code_of_Ethics.pdf

Damien Green IS guilty of lying about his knowledge of what was found on his computer in 2008, and breaching the Ministerial Code of Conduct, but he has NOT been found guilty of any criminal offence and still strenuously denies he ever loaded the porn to his computer.

However, the two ex-police officers should be brought to account over their alleged unauthorized disclosures of police information which was, allegedly, an illegal act.

This whole episode is very distasteful and dangerous, with severe political and democratic implications when police officers can illegally affect the government of the day. Until Damien Green is charged and prosecuted for this or any other matter, he is, like any other citizen, to be thought of as being innocent.

Agreed, Lizzie. His lies since the story emerged have rendered him worthy of losing his position, but when the (ex) Police dabble in politics, it leaves a very bad taste.

Similar unethical, if not illegal, behaviour over that "plebgate" incident earlier. A worrying trend....

During that incident one of the officers posted on social media "I think Ive just brought down a Tory minister".
Like most of the public sector, the police have been infiltrated and lost control to the liberal left.

So is this politically inspired to further weaken and discredit the Tories?

Like most of the public sector, the police have been infiltrated and lost control to the liberal extreme Left.

A minor correction . . . . .

Didn't Leslie Grantham (Dirty Den) do naughties in his dressing room a few years back - hence his departure from EastEnders?

So......Damien Green was tossing it off in front of a House of Commons computer then. Nothing wrong with that, we’ve all done it.  ;D

I'm not Tory MP material where I've obviously lead a sad sheltered life, what's tossing in front of a computer? My beautiful young wife 'sitting on my lap' in front of a computer has happened on long winter nights. :-X :-X :-X ;D ;D ;D I've heard sitting underneath on a cloth covered typist chairs with no arms is much more comfortable and practical than using an executive leather one with arms when ones expressing yourself :-X :-X :-X ;D ;D ;D, not that I would know. ::) ::) ::) But I'm sure a man of the world like Lord Opti will confirm. ;) ;) ;)
