Anything south of the CBD is dodgy. Looking towards Arlington Heights area.

Doesn't route 66 start/stop in the city centre?

It does.. then again, most of the city looks like it needs flattening, too ;D

But it runs through some of the very run down parts of the outskirts: https://www.historic66.com/illinois/det-il1.php

The same can be said for Rt66 in a lot of places, it just felt significantly more seedy in Chicago than anywhere else for some reason - maybe it's because 1960s ghost towns (all wood, ramshackle and deserted) look 'quaint' while concrete and brick crack dens look a little more intimidating  ;D

I preferred the other end of Rt66 entirely, personally - the bit in California  :y ;D
