The new 2018 one will have the 3cylinder engine that cuts down to 2 when the 3rd is not needed :o.It will according to the figures published put out 200PS[whatever they are]There are 3 selectable driving modes Normal,Sport and Track,each one comes with what Ford term ESE-electronic sound enhancement-which alters the exhaust note for "enhanced"driving pleasure :D ;D

200PS is about 197bhp.

The latest 370z`s have that, which is just wrong in a 3.7l V6 car  :(

It has to be disabled by a dealer too  >:(

I always think of PS as German BHP. But our BHP is bigger than their PS. :)

I drove a 1.0 ecoboost fiesta today,64 plate and have to say it drove brilliantly,it would jump over my 1.6 focus from a few years earlier

The cylinder only shuts down when decelerating or under very low power rolling cruise requirement, as soon as you give it the slightness of gas increase it instantly switches back to normal.

They are great in the Fiesta, not so good in the Focus or Mondeo (which is a bonkers place to put them).

Have you tried the GM equivalent in the Corsa, much smoother and better power delivery (balance shafts etc. make a big difference)

The cylinder only shuts down when decelerating or under very low power rolling cruise requirement, as soon as you give it the slightness of gas increase it instantly switches back to normal.

But every fuel injected car for the last 25+ years has shut all cylinders down when decelerating?

So the only gain is very occasionally, when cruising, it pops another on off (isn't marketing great)  :y

Driven a 3 cylinder Dahatsiu surprisingly it went okay.
