Selling points
« on: 17 March 2018, 18:30:43 »

For the Vignale spec Fords
Leather seats are buffed with ostrich feathers.......how would you know the difference?
Premium body colour paint...................what do the rest get?
Each one inspected by hand at a separate facility to ensure they meet the exacting standards of the Vignale spec......are the rest just thrown together and pushed out the factory doors?

I suppose they have to put summat in the brochures/publicity blurb to try to justify the £2000 odd extra cost over the Titanium spec.

Well......everyone knows that the Vectra was thrown together by any old worker.

Equally true is the fact that each  Signum is hand crafted by the very best. Each magnificent motor car then buffed to a mirror shine with the breasts of Japanese virgins. :)

The Barnsley Boy is right - they take the worse chassis they could find (Vectra-C) and proceed to ruin an already crap car.

The phrase “you can’t polish a turd” is actually not true for the Signum.  ;D

Vectra C is only a crap chassis if you are incapable of driving it ::)

No matter who you are, its a crap chassis.  Thats not to say its not a hoot to drive (with a 3.2 in it), because it is. But it still needs you to through lock on, and get around the corner by varying the throttle.

In reality, the 2.0DTi is probably its ideal engine, as the 120bhp 1.9CDTi is a bit too lairy for it

I find that with the 240PS in the Mondeo, it can't handle the power properly on take-off, but OK in a straight line, and getting the power right when pressing on in corners is 'interesting'. :-X

The Mondeo HEV has apparently a combined total of 187PS so maybe less "issues" than your 240PS?

It’s a Ford so yes, unless you buy an RS in Whitchurch case the fit “drift mode” and if you try to use it responsibly it invalidates the warranty apparently !

If I understand correctly the vignale customers get the cars washed every visit, there own vip area in the dealership and a 24/7 assistant.
Apart from that the cars only come in a select few colours!
It sounds like ford trying to do onstar and at a premium, didn’t all car dealers wash and vac cars they had for service once?
I don’t remember that costing an extra £2,000

No-one gets a V.I.P. area at local Ford dealer, but most vehicles of any make/model that go in the workshop get at least washed and leathered.

You'd think they'd have had the decency to put the engine in the right way round and connect it to the right pair of wheels too... ::)

If people will pay the extra, why not charge it?

I've never been a Ford fan, I test drove a ST24 Mondeo at the same time as the v6 Vectra. They were worlds apart, the Vectra felt so much faster.

During the course of about 15 Vectra B's, I needed a cheap car and bought a v6 Mondeo. I was equally as disappointed as I was before.

I always felt the Vectra C was an ugly car from the outside and bland on the inside. As the rear end was the ugliest bit, the Signum did go some way to improving that. But when it came to parting with my own cash, I bought a 9-3 with 1.9CDTI engine. I think I made the right choice.
