He was given a gong, citizenship & a job in recogontion of selfless act  for the French ppl. :y
The laws in France give great importance to recognising ppl from other nations who aid the French cause.
Just a pity we don`t do same over here. Just a few years ago we learnt that HMG were treating the Gurkha vets to miserly pensions, not to mention the windrush fiasco.
Now I read that the Home Office wants £2.5k from the Afghans, who supported the British Army in Helmand province, otherwise they`re  out :o

The way HMG has treated the Gurkhas has been a disgrace from the get go and should be a matter of national shame,and it seems we're repeating the exercise with the Afghans >:( The windrush affair as you say has been/still is a total fiasco nearly worthy of a Brian Rix farce if it was in the least funny.
