How Roomy is a Superb
« on: 13 July 2018, 10:29:20 »

May be rising up the ranks at work  . . .job will come with a car  ::)

Skoda Superb has been mentioned  . . .as I am 6' 5"  and not a lightweight  just wondering how roomy they are in the front .

Best to do a trial "sitting" I know  . . .but just wondering if any Oofers  have one & their verdict.

Or any other suggested  suitable make /model along the superb budget figure ?    :y :y

Lots of superbs used as private hire taxis, usually a good sign.

Very roomy - the biggest interior I sat in of anything in its class, and at least as big as the Omega, if not roomier.

Granted I'm no beanpole but at the time I was 5'10" and 29st (22st, now, so it feels considerably more roomy! ;D).

Thanks tunnie - though I have a long way to go; and after a week in London last week it might be more like 22st 7lb at the moment!  :-[ :-[

Yup, they're a company car option for us, which I ended up not taking but I did sit in and test drive one.

I'm 6'1" and 23st, and I found it the most comfortable of that size of car that I tried.

Sounds like you are getting brand spankers one, so perhaps of no use. But the VCDS/VAGCOM software is easily available and very easy to use, so it would allow easy diagnosis and enabling features.  :y

Current one looks smaller than the previous model... Aaronjb currently has one and seems happy enough with it. Not a car I would buy with my own money speaking personally.

As for taxi drivers buying them... There's a company in Scotland that churns out thousands of them on zero deposit weekly finance deals. :-X

Seems new models only available in Hatch or Estate . . .no saloon that I can see ( as yet ) :-\ :-\

Will have to ask Aaronjb if he has the latest shape ?  :-\ :-\

He does :y

Sussex use the new Superb as a dog wagon. Looks about the same size as an Octavia... But VAG products are tricky to gauge as the are all essentially different sizes of Golfs ::)

Yup, latest shape (2016 reg, but there hasn't been a facelift yet - 2019MY may change the car, I know they are making sweeping changes to other models) estate, in my case.

There's a lot more space in the back than the Octavia ;) I think the rear doors are a couple of inches longer, as is the boot. The front is probably closer in size between the two, though, if the arse end is of no concern :)

On a recent visit to the Czech Republic, we got picked up at the airport by taxi in a Skoda Superb. It appeared to be a high spec one with wood (plastic wood really) cappings and leather, but I was really impressed with the quality of the interior, and the front and rear leg room. Although a passenger, the quality of the drive appeared to be excellent. Decent luggage space too. Not heard many bad reports about the modern bigger Skodas to be honest.

Fooking ell......Jimmy. I'm 6' 1" and 14 stone. The doctor was too polite to call me a fat bastard but said I should aim to lose a stone and a half.
