You've inspired me Tunnie.  ::)

Just ordered all oils and filters for the BMW from ECP. Will collect later.  :y

Another job for the weekend.  ::)

£64.32. Triple QX oil  and Crosland filters.  :y

Surely your arthritic BMW is beyond help. :) ;)

Plenty of life in the old girl yet, but like an old boy like you M'lud she needs a bit of TLC now and again.  ;)

Haha, glad to help. Similar service costs then  :)

I went posh Shell oil, only £3 more than QX, even on BOGOF deal.

Think I will be up early on Saturday to sort the mummy bus.

Then you have to get rid of the old stuff, so a trip to the tip.

I have a 20L drum in the garage, just for waste oil, so can do a few changes before it need a run to the tip.

Not quite as generous on codes I had, sadly.

Still, all filters and oil for less than £70.

Much less than £250 Vauxhall wanted, they also did not include the pollen filter, so suspect north of £300 for that. Might ring a garage for a quote including that, see how much I'm saving and therefore can spend money saved on other things.

Not that MrsT will see it that way.  ;D

£180 difference and the satisfaction of knowing that your pride and joy hasn't been butchered by knuckledragging neanderthals. :y

Before delivery of both of my XFR's Jaguar 'supposedly' carried out an exhaustive 165 point check.

My guess is that the 165 point check actually consisted of a spotty 17 year old armed with a damp cloth.  :-\

Coolant level and power steering fluid were below minimum level and there was a host of other items that clearly hadn't been checked. :-\

That's rubbish, you think they check things, but nothing beats doing it yourself.

I think that Jaguar are aware that most owners know SFA about cars in general.

Jaguar Forums talk about which main dealer to use if there is a problem. Very few on the forum(s) have much in the way of technical and mechanical know how.

Can't fault ECP's Click and Collect service.  Popped into their Avonmouth branch this afternoon and all my stuff was sat waiting for me, so I was in and out!  :y

Lizzie has a certain natural Rubenesque charm. :)

I don't like skinny women, or fake tits.

Talking of fake tits whatever happened to Lolopops?

Jaguar might have done a 165 point check but did they say they'd done anything about any problems they found? :D
As for Vx dealers a mate of mine is a technician/mechanic[not at Vx]and he had an Insignia Elite[with leather]to do on which the drivers seat heater wasn't working,so he checked it out and phoned Vx to order a new heater pad.
Parts guy:What do you want one of those for?
Him:Seat heater not working.
Pg:You won't want one of those they never fail, what you need is a module.
Him:What about the TSV that's out for them that hasn't been done on this car?
Pg: Oh,we never do those it's the module you want.
Anyway went with heater pad which didn't cure it,so ordered a module.Module arrived and it was bigger than the one on the car and had 9 plugs where original only had 3 :o
Phoned Vx again and spoke to service dept
Service guy:What you replacing the module for? They never go wrong,we've never fitted one it's the heater pad you want we're always replacing those and some even turn up already faulty :D
So yet another pad ordered and he's awaiting delivery so the saga continues!
