I was hoping to trace the relevant wire back to the head unit, or am I chasing my tail with that one.  :-\
Does the head unit not have a mute pin to the telematics wiring plug behind the glovebox. Perhaps I've misunderstood how the system works.  :-\

Sorry, that should say 'prewiring' plug, not telematics.  ::)

Got a puncture whilst parking in Hammersmith this morning. AA came within an hour and replaced it with spare in 5 minutes.  :y

Quickly removed the negative battery terminal after I switched on the lights which resulted in a cloud of smoke coming from the switch. luckily it was only some sort of regulator that had split open and nothing major. the fact theres quite a bit of electronics inside the switch surprised me but I'm not sure what the regulator would have done but it doesn't seem to effect anything.

I've had the same happen to one of mine!

I was wrong it does affect something mainly..the instrument lights radio lights heater control panel lights and when you switch on the side lights it turns off the transmission selector lamp too. hopefully theres nothing else amiss and I can just replace the light switch and away I go. I don't suppose anyone has one I could buy do they?.

Had another attempt at removing the NCDC unit from the dash but can now confirm that it was welded in at the factory.  ::)

I only want it out to find out if the mute pin to telematics wiring behind the glovebox is complete, not much to ask is it.  >:(
I've tried what appears to be decent double din removal tools, I've tried the same tools with a thin layer of tape around for grip, I've tried ball end Allen keys but it won't budge. The nearest it came to moving was when I nearly ripped the fascia off the lower part.  ;D
Try chrisgixer, as he ain't far away if you can catch him on his way home one day, I know he has a pretty good hooky thing.

Drove it to Sainsburys, loaded it up with approx. £400 worth of assorted stuff, for which we paid less than £30. Then went to their petrol station and put £75 worth in but paid less than £70 due to my 9p of per litre voucher the shop just gave me.
Twas a good day, but I'm cream crackered. Taking a swmbo into an enormous shop for virtually free shopping is more than a man can endure.  ;D

I remember the days when I used to do that at Tesco’s. I was a good runner back then, and it never even cost me £30.

Adjusted the hand brake at the hubs so both sides are equal now. MOT coming up very soon so even though it was pissing down I had to do it. Thought about fitting the poly doughnuts that I bought in a recent  ::) group buy but it's too wet out now so they'll have to wait a bit longer.  :)

I couldn't believe just how much time had gone by.  :o   TB had his Kawasaki and his original garage back then when I collected them. His old garage has orbited the moon quicker than I can get around to fitting some doughnuts.  ;D  How time flies by.  :D
