Wiring Question
« on: 09 October 2006, 16:29:04 »

Today, I was poking about behind my radio and found I had lots of wires pre-placed behind blank switches on the right hand side.

To the right of the radio (as I look at it) from top to bottom is

Temperature Adjuster
Blank
Blank
Traction Control
Blank (all be it missing)

All the blanks are prewired so the question is

What should be there and can I just get some switches and get some free toys?

If it helps, on my facelift CD the buttons go, temperature control, drivers heated seat adjuster, alarm part set button (turns off tilt and internal sensors), traction control and then boot release!

No idea if it would work with just the buttons attached though!

Gwilym if yours have the connectors but not the buttons you maybe able to fit the extra's

The main one I thought I would mention is the boot release, I thought I would mention Hillper did a boot release mod for the facelift with pictures might be worth sending him a PM as you maybe just in need of the switch. unfortunately i cannot find it on here it maybe across the pond on the other site, could be worth a look.

Was thinking the piccys that Hillper took might help to confirm you have all the necessary in place for the Boot release extra.

Found it http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1155211091 missed it when looking  :)

Yep. Ex Plod, No heated seats either. I am looking for interior with heated seats then I should just be able to get the buttons.

Boot Release would be useful I might research that one.

Alarm - No Thanks, something else to go wrong.

Thanks for all the advice

I thought as much but was quietly optomistic.

Just the heated seats then.

I will start hunting for the leather interior. Infact, I have just started anoth thread on that one.

With leather, check heaters work before buying - quite often they don't, and heaters cannot be easily replaced on leather...

Um! Beginning to sound complicated! I will probably wait until a local breaker is taking one apart then check personally rather than buying over the net.

Cheers

Yep, that's correct, the complete leather cover needs to be replaced if the heater is blown, and they cost an arm, a leg, and a gonad ( ;D ) to buy new from Vx. Over £200 if i remember correctly.  :o

I changed mine, fiddly just about describes it. But then i suppose everything on the Omega is.  ::)

OK So now I am thinking just leave everything as it is! If it isn't broken, don't touch it.
