hi all,
started car this morning and found heater display,fan etc and power steering tightish.think it may be a fuse but unsure which one.
haynes states fuse 14 but that also protects heated seats and these seem to work ok.
w reg 3.0 mv6

i wont get chance to check till tonight at work but will check 30.

(stupid question coming)

why does a fuse protect the power steering? is it not a mechanical pump?

Hi!

I was the same problem etc 3 months ago - i' ve also posted it.
I think number 14 was the guilty fuse, but when i replaced that gone again....
Number 14 is controlling the power steering, heated seats (!!according to some docs, but simailar like you it has also worked for me!!), climate control, cigarette lighter, rear blind.
The solution in my case was the rear blind disconnection...but firstly you should check num 14 fuse and if it will gone after replace than try to disconnect the rear blind (because this is the easiest, you can disconnect the cables it in the boot, if not ok after this try to check the cigarette lighter , because perhaps a coin has shortened the wires)
