I have read that the "hadn't met until he had been divorced three years", wasn't actually true but was party spin.
I neither know nor care. She was the best PM of my lifetime, regardless of when she started getting her knicks off for dirty Den. 
If she were still around I would be voting for her in a few weeks time.

So 10 candidates go forward to the first ballot for MP's on Thursday.

I don't think that Leadsom will make the cut.    But McVey is growing on me.   

I reckon she's the one to get a good deal with Trump and I can just imagine her saying to him in that sultry scouse accent "C'mon Donald, you know you want to"     He'd be putty...

Actually I think it's quite astute. 

There are a lot of ordinary people who have been dragged into the higher rate tax band due to the stagnation of the threshold.  Public sector workers like senior nurses, teachers etc are affected. 

I have a friend who is a proper lefty guardianista and he works for a quango.  He's a classic middle class, metropolitan, university educated labour voter and I'm not sure what his salary is, but I know it's between £40-50k and I know it sticks in his craw that it is the Tories that save him money in tax! 

Of course I feel duty bound to remind him of this from time to time.

The 40% threshold has been raised for the past two years and, I think, is going to be at £50,000 next year. Slim Phil managed to almost negate any savings by raising the NI limit.
