I know it's classed as a prestigious show and the venue has to be hugely expensive, but for me the entry price is way too high to start with however what really ticks me off is that despite the high price of admission you also get ripped off for car parking >:(

It was a good show though although  the parking charge takes the piss a bit.

I was there on Saturday; really needed two days, or maybe Friday is a better day as it's so rammed with people it's hard to see where you're going, let alone the cars, sometimes ;D

Some gorgeous cars though and the prices on some of them are absolutely astounding.. £65,000 for a split-screen camper van, for example  :o

Still, nice to walk around and look at the shiny (and not so shiny) metal, and spent the best part of a grand on parts for the kit car.. :-[

The trick with the NEC is to park in the Station Car park  :y (the same for short term last minute parking for the airport)

The same applies for parking at the O2 London. Iirc £11 at the station, £25 at the O2.

Another option is to park at marston green station and get the 1 stop on the train. Parking was free last time I did this and it meant you didn't have to queue with everyone else to leave the car park and join the M42  :y

I used to stay at my exes house and go from there .. probably look a bit weird if I did that now, though  ;D (Still used to drive and pay the £12, mind, because I'm lazy  :-[ )

The NEC Classic Car Show was on Fantom Works recently when they were restoring a Bubble Car and Dan (the man) had to come to England for parts as he couldn't get any stateside.  There was a fella showing a Bubble Car who stripped it and provided the parts Dan needed with a smile, who later remarked "I don't understand why he would agree to strip his car at a show like that.." or words to that affect.  :-\

I had a fair idea why he cheerfully stripped his car for the Yank with the TV crew!  :)
