No, that circuit board only takes care of the CD Changer

93
As a test, leave a disc in overnight - and I bet it doesn`t come on

If thats the case, then I know EXACTLY what the fault is

94
Does it do this with a disc left in there overnight, or if disc removed?   ;)

Fairly common problem on those units, and something we can fix if sent over to us - About £50 + postage

95
About £75 (ish)

Yes and No, be aware of the Non Bose and Bose versions which are not plug and play due to differing Output levels, ie, non Elites and Elites in the UK.  :y

Thats only really an issue if replacing CDR2005 with a CCR2006, as the CCR2006 has a programmable volume stage.

Original post was for replacing CCR2006 with a CDR2005, and doubtfull if you would even notice the BOSE issues as CDR2005 is very forgiving

 ;)
Other way around Dave, that's how I read it, OP has 2005 and is thinking wacking a 2006 in there.

Oops! My Bad, you are correct  :-[

No, CDC40 requires CAN signals to make it function correctly, and whilst you may be able to get it running in the car using a standard live supply, it will only remain switched on for around 20 mins before automatically turning off.

Autoleads will confirm what it does and does not support - we just sell them

103
Easy way to stop this going round in circles then   :y

The Autoleads interface is PC99-X06   http://www.dndservices.co.uk/pc99-x06.html

The Autoleads Patch lead is PC99-KEN-DIS   http://www.dndservices.co.uk/pc99-kenwood-dis.html

We carry them in stock, available on the links shown

How many would you like ?

How far is it going in before it jamms?

Usually the rear part of the metal cage that can cause tightness, in which case bend it outwards slightly before pushing the stereo home

105
I used to have a lens cleaning disc. Do these work, and might it help in this cse?

Lens cleaning should only ever be done with a lint free cotton bud, and very carefully. Those cleaning discs just knock hell out of the focus coils, but as yours is so knackered now, then probably isn`t going to make it any worse.
