Those are the symptoms of ABS ECU failure.

Helpful info here :

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90627.0

the ABS ECU can be removed following this procedure...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=132796.0

On the old 2.5 it cost £130:00 to have the ECU repaired, with a 2 year warranty and it was back within a week. That was over 8 years ago however so the prices have probably changed !!

I used BBA-Reman but there are others as well

Info you ask is in the post above yours !!

The speedo gets its info electronically from the ABS transducers via the ABS ECU, so if the ECU fails the speedo fails, as do all other speed related items.. you'll find the cruise control won't work, the steering will drop to minimum assistance (slightly heavier and not variable), as well as the ABS / TC functions you've already seen.

Experience shows that the intermittent nature of the problem slowly, but surely, gets worse until it fails completely. It is of course an MOT failure for ABS and / or Speedo not to work

The main advantage of getting yours repaired is it does NOT need programming to the car, it already is !! If you buy a new one it will need programming, if you buy second hand (and you don't know if that is about to fail) then it has to be the same engine/transmission/body and I think year, if not it will need programming. This can be done with a tech 2 but involves further cost.
