Auto to manual
« on: 28 July 2006, 11:48:47 »

Is it difficult to replace an auto box for a manual one. My auto box is O.K (kiss of death) but I prefer a manual one or am I being stupid ::)

Its not difficult but there is a lot to swap over.

You need to find a donor car really and swap from one to the other rather than raiding a scrap yard and missing that the widget bracket is slightly shorter on a manual etc, etc.

Probably easier to replace the car and sell yours. There are manual Elites out there, or get an MV6 which also has better suspension and swap some of the interesting bits over (rear blind, auto-dipping mirror etc).
