But it was the big protests all over the news for months at the time. And where that unwashed prick who called himself Swampy made his name (of being a lazy, work shy sponger)

That little bastard did all he could to stop the Batheaston Bypass too.  I'd happily shoot the little ...........

Lives in a yurt somewhere in deepest darkest Wales by all accounts.  :)

it's not the welsh's fault…….    given independence and border controls he'd never have made it there.

i ran up and down that very stretch today ……..    on my way to/from  portsmouth,  then Froxfield,  Petersfield, then Chilbolton down,  then home…..

not sure what average speed was…..    ;)   MPG…..    i do know…..  pretty poor today…..  i was being a bit "get along quick"  …..  so only managed 46MPG over the 200 or so miles…. ……

bastard speed camera van on the 50mph run in to the M3 junction might possibly spoil my day in the post in the next week or so…..   oh well…….  license has been clean for far too long any way….

PS……  it's my first Diseasel…..    and …….   that's probably the last time i will ever call them that…….    plenty quick, and frugal, and comfortable….    damn…….  i don't care if it shares DNA with a ford…..  it's still rather great car….

I met Joe Satriani on tuesday ….. he was nice, but I was a train wreck…….  i meet loads of "names"  in my working life , usually doesn't bother me in the slightest,   but he's been my Idol for nearly 30 years  , consequently,   i was an incoherent babbling idiot …….

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?
« on: 03 September 2015, 11:02:05 »
will report back when i get it back tonight,  but allegedly,  Air , oil, fuel and pollen filters, oil change, and check vehicle over thoroughly and report back on any upcoming requirements…  (which i will then deal with as appropriate )  …. and importantly,   Jag main dealer stamp on service history …..   it has a full history so far,   I aim to keep it that way ..

it's actually cheaper than getting the omega done at a main dealer…..   ;)

handed the keys to the very nice man from the Jaguar dealership,    who collect it from home,   service it,  wash and valet it,  and bring it back, all for £299 inc vat

no back ache,  no sore hands,  no neck paralysis .

pretty good value that…..  cheaper than DIY + a trip to the osteopath/physio

;)

there is no omega on my drive

hmmm

not sure i am going to hold out long  …….    but we'll see…..

Wifey has demanded something SMALL to learn to drive in……     she means corsa sized…..   bugger that……    astra sized diesel is as small as i'll go….

meanwhile….   quite nice to have a prescott-esque driveway….  even if one of them is knackered ….  now to get rid of the nightmare v6 jag…..    and the son's POS corsa wreck….     so i have room to consider options …..   ;)

meanwhile my wallet is loving the 44+ mpg in the replacement jag…

Auto wipers on the jag seem to work fairly well    ……   tested thoroughly on a trip to wales,  where there are 37 different words for "rain"

not used the auto light thing yet…..   as i've not been brave enough to rely on it or , bored enough to read the manual section about them yet…..
