64.9p at Sainsburys, Morrisons knocking it out at 65.9 and Shell also. Should be about 59.9 if petrols going at the 1.20 mark.  :-\

You realise the real price when it comes by the gallon, I've just filled the can for the mower £7.80 :( :(
I also remember when it was five bob a gallon :y when four passengers would each give the driver a quid for travelling to nights out all over the country. It paid his petrol for the week and a free night out ;) happy days :y :y ;) but that's another old Mod's story :D

Do you remember the uproar when it went over £1 a litre? :D :D

Although seriously, I won't be happy with petrol prices until it's within 10p of lpg. Only then will the tank come out of the boot.

....and even if that happens, which it won't, it will be ready to go back in a week later no doubt ;D

I have been consuming tankfuls of diesel like it is going out of fashion whilst helping out in Scotland with a sick aunt.

Here is a question.

UK unleaded 125 diesel 129

Spain 126 diesel unleaded 145

Who is being taken for a ride in which country?

Spain's economy is still struggling by all accounts. Not likely to see any price cuts there ant time soon.

Arguably, forcourt prices are bad for independents here. So not ideal either.

Ideal.... Quite a small word. So difficult to achieve.

1961,  4 gallons of petrol and 20 fags, = a few coppers change from £1.
Same year I bought a 3 year old Vauxhall Velox for £150.

Oh happy days !

Chris. You are right about Spains economy. However the price drops in Spain as soon as world oil prices drop. In Britain it only drops when the supermarkets choose. My point is there is a huge relative difference between diesel and petrol

According to the media current low crude prices are hurting the Russian Rouble.

Is this the stick to bash Putin with :-\ or will OPEC hit the brakes on their current production output.

He`s playing some odd games with incursions into UK airspace & I read somewhere that elements of the  Russian Navy steamed thru the channel over the weekend.

Any chance of hitting  £112/ litre for standard unleaded by Chrismas   ???

If this is America's way of having a pop at Putin,by making crude prices, plummet then please carry on,only down side is crude oil prices control a lot of the world stock markets, and the banks buy and sell oil to make profits. Playing with fire. But I like cheap fuel. :y

What will be interesting will be the direction of gas and electricity prices this year.  My bet is that while they may not go up, they certainly won't go down in case we have a Labour government next May.  :-\

Labour have of course promised to freeze energy prices if they get in a the next election.  ::)  ;D
