Three independent insurance quotes.
« on: 30 October 2014, 12:18:00 »

Three independent quotes for returning the garden, lawns, fences, trees,...etc etc to their original condition have averaged out at £5640.

Three independent quotes for demolishing the old conservatory, removing the rubble, and then replacing it with a new one of the a same size and quality have averaged out at.........£ 27650.

Three independent quotes for returning the interior of the house to its pre-impact condition have averaged out at £6278.

This gives us an average total of..........£34492......This figure takes no account of costs.....loss of earnings and emotional trauma

Would you care to guess what my illustrious insurance company has offered as full and final settlement?

Your insurance company?
Shouldn't the wagon drivers insurance be paying out?

If it is your company doing the paying tell them to do one!

Still not accepting any responsibility.  I think my insurance have come up with such a low figure because they are worried that the third party insurance won't pay them.

The figure is £11048. :-\ :'(

I have asked the shitheads for a breakdown of costs. I believe this to be reasonable.

They have refused.

However, they did tell me that my garden policy limit of £350 had been applied. >:(

There is no policy limit as a third party.

Supply copies of the quotes and tell them to get it sorted, remind them who the customer is and who the victim is in this case.

Also inform them that due to their lack of support thus far you will be considering contacting a loss adjuster or third party to support the claim on your behalf.

Definitely time to get the solicitors involved - go at them with everything, even if you have to use a "no win, no fee" solicitor, and nail them to the wall - your insurance company for stress and emotional trauma and the third parties insurer for the rest of your losses..

definitely time to get legal on this.

one point: no win no fee sounds good and works where you have a good chance of not winning.   but where these guys make their money is charging the earth when you do win

in your case my view is a win is almost certain so you might consider a more normal fee paying approach and recover costs.

Personally I think if it goes legal, the wagon insurers will cave in but it will have to go legal first.  given the sums involved they will fight hard I'm afraid

leave your insurers out of it; only fall back on them if you cannot recover from the third party: wagon insurer

Opti Towers, Formal Gardens and Estate must be restored to their former glory. :y
As previously stated you must get a solicitor involved and let them deal with it, as I did years ago, with a good no cost outcome. :y
You and Mrs Opti don't need the stress on top of the awful experience :( let the legal eagles sort it out. :y
