That’s what I thought . So it looks like someone has fitted pre facelift light to the pass side.not an actual physical problem in itself providing you don’t mind the gap on the corner.it will obviously still work as intended.
So from what I am reading it sounds like you need to either find a way to hold the bulb in correctly on your other lamp ( is this an early rounded corner type as well ?) or replace the lamp unit complete to match the other side .
Or
Replace the pair but then you’re getting expensive / extra work for just solving the original. Bulb holder problem.
Your car . Your call .

Looks like an early pre facelift light has been fitted rather than the correct type. ( hence the gap/ rounded off corner)
Or am I mistaken ?
yes, that's what I thought  :y
I had one with rounded corner like that ,sent as a replacement .
it physically fits and works but looks wrong on a facelift (mine's 53 plate)
so I swapped it for a pointy corner set

If I can sort a cheap unit to replace the damaged driver one, would be happy. But if I could find the proper style for both sides cheapish that would be even better. :)
Is this the style that should be in mine?

Yes it look correct but then again so does yours .if it were me and your existing headlamp has got good adjusters and lens I would just try find a replacement bulb retainer clip/ top.
I personally would be more inclined to change the other headlamp ! But that’s just me !.

I think the headlight drivers side is still not working right, the wife informed me earlier that headlight warning came on again, so will just change it. If the two in the links are proper type for mine then does the £39 for the pair seem a good price?

Thanks

The price seems fine but I would try and confirm that the adjusters are ok . Trouble is ,,the seller may snap them by trying them !  That is these lamps weak spot. You can fit a new adjuster without dismantling the light but it’s very fiddly and most advise softening the glue in an oven and removing the lense first.
You have just opened up a large can of worms I think !.

Look again ;)

The lenses on mine aren't great, but the adjusters are sound. Thinking about it, I will probably split my lights down and list the adjusters in the for sale section.

If I were you, I would buy the two in your last post and take a chance on the adjusters... At least that way you know that you definitely have a correct pair of working headlights ;)
