Alloy Wheel fitment
« on: 27 July 2006, 17:35:32 »

Been looking online for a set of cheap alloys to go on the black omega and have found some 03 11 spoke alloys was wondering though whether they would be ok to fit on the omega.

They are off a Mk4 astra not standard though I dont think.

Tyres on them are 205/55/16 on a 5 stud fitment.

Whats the opinion I am after a quick repair so not bothered about wheels being from a different type VX.

Will they fit though this is what concerns me.

Cheers in advance
Roy

According to www.rochfordtyres.co.uk the PCD, bore and offset are the same for 5 stud but picture shows the newest shape mk5 astra not the one before it. Wheels I am looking at are from an mk4 Sxi (03)

Stumped   >:(

What do you reckon guys, tempted to take a gamble

Cheers

I've got the irmscher Sportstar mixed wheel set, 8x18" on the front and 9x18" on the rear.

Both are ET30 so they sit perfect, nice and flush.

irmscher also list ET33 and ET39's so they should fit too, bit will sit into your arch a bit more and won't look as good as 30's.

I tried ET45's on my car before it got "irmscher'd" and to be honest, it looked awful.

The offset is to far out....will scrub tyres and handle badly.

Yep, with the 45's fitted the car 'tram-tracked' quite badly. (As well as looked bad, which concerned me more, lol)

It's not just the stud spacing/size and offset that you need to check, also the diameter of the hole in the middle varies. Many years ago I had a Mk2 Cav, and got 3 matched alloys from somewhere (Off of another cav) and one other from an ashtray which although was identical in every way had a smaller centre hole by about 1mm.

Seen Vectra B SRi wheels on an Omega and it looks terrible, way-out offset meant it looked like one of them old Comma vans...with the wheels about a foot in from the bodywork.

Cheers for all the responses

I didn't go for them in the end, as I may have found a set of elite wheels to fit close to me

Viewing them tomorrow so I maybe lucky.

Too bigger gamble fitting the wrong type alloys.
