The Hands Free Speaker is probably at the back of the phone, so external Cover?, something blocking it, got wet and the speaker is duff or or got sticky wet and has dried up of the speaker is fukced.

Or, in settings (somewhere) phone thinks its using Bluetooth or Headphones when you speak the speaker on.

I once had a similar problem with a phone. It had a model specific cover, however it partially blocked mic/speakers. Fixed with a very small and sharp blade.

I checked with cover off and it isn't that either. You can hear it distinctly mute as soon as you press loudspeaker.

Do you use it with headphones or Bluetooth for hands-free?

Nah, just as is, no headphones or use Bluetooth. Funnily enough I took rubber cover off last night and back plate is all cracked. Don't remember that being broke.

No he wasn't. He was being a sarky bastid.  ;D

I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt. Then again, what doubt  ::)  ;D
Oi >:( I am still in the room...  :P

Currently on my fourth Xperia... Present one, XZ Premium, has three volumes, all controlled by the side buttons.

If the speaker works for media playback, then it's a settings problem... If it doesn't, then you didn't buy the waterproof one that you thought you had ;)

All volumes work, except the speaker, and I don't see any settings for it, just ringing volume, media volume and alarm volume. Turned off all the other sound fancy settings like clear audio and normaliser just to see if that made any difference.

Turn the volume up on the side  ::)

Volume is at max on the side when on normal speaker but it goes dead as soon as the loudspeaker is put on; will try that of course.

Hi

Wondering if anyone knows how I can fix this. I have Sony Experia mobile and in a call if I turn on the loudspeaker the sound just mutes when I do that. Pretty annoying having to plaster the phone to my head and if there is any background noise I can't hear what is being said.

Cheers for any tips. I've tried all the usual stuff in call settings, and phone is up to date software etc.

Omega General Help / Heard metallic clink on sharp corner
« on: 08 July 2018, 23:09:16 »
Hi Guys

2.6 02 saloon

Was cornering right hand bend the other day, it's a short sharp one, more of a sort of L bend for a mway on ramp, and took it a bit "keen" and then heard what I can only describe as a metallic clink sound, the noise was more "outside" rather than hearing it through the cabin; I had window down so heard it clearly outside. Haven't inspected anything as of yet and don't see anything visual like sagging from broken spring or anything, nor is handling any different or any other noises apparent, so going to have a look. Anyone had a similar experience and found what it was, or suggestions what to check etc.

Thanks

G

Found a place in Glasgow who does diagnostics, only 25 bucks for a diagnosis test, most garages round here are saying they can just top gas up.

They're not going to diagnose anything until the system is gassed and any obvious leaks sorted

That's what I'll be getting them to do. Check for leaks first, vac test.

Also found out what the little button is on centre too of dash, a sun sensor, something to do with climate control as well.

Omega General Help / Re: Drain torque converter
« on: 05 July 2018, 07:51:48 »
Pretty much all automatic gearboxes are the same and I've never seen one where you can drain the torque converter. If you hold a TC in your hand it becomes pretty clear why that's the case.

About the best thing you can do is replace the fluid you can get to, then flush the transmission with clean fluid via the fluid cooler lines. I have a theory that the AR35 returns fluid from the TC via the cooler lines. If/when I CBA to change my fluid I might test that theory. ;D

On the other hand, a partial fluid change is better than nothing, and it's the best any autobox gets, even if it's not declared to be "sealed for life".

There is a drain plug on my mk2 Grenada for tc.

how much auto box fluid is in the cooler rad and lines ?
is it worth draining ?
do you disconnect both lines and let it drain out or will it just drain with the sumps removed anyway
i have to do mine soon
TIA  :)

Pop off the bottom pipe to drain it, check guide under maintenance guide/index which details the pipe removal

Had a look through rads with torch and can clearly see right through fins. Not really convinced they are blocked bad enough to cause it not too cool. While my pressure gauge is showing into the green, compressor kicks in and fans running when an on, any other thoughts what it could be. I measured temp of compressor and pipes with infra red temp reader, getting 40 oC on LP pipes, 70  odd on comp and associated pipes. Condenser was about 38 on passenger side, 32 on driver side

I am thinking of changing box oil soon and reading the guide seen that only 5 litres got removed from a possible 8. Does tc also have a drain plug? Don't see point in leaving 3 litres of old oil in there.

You can, but you'll need to remove the radiator and condenser in order to remove the fans...

 ;D

Not just the 2 fans behind grill, they have to come out backways towards engine? There is one fan in front of rad, 2 at grill side. I take it air con fans don't come out front ways?

Is it easy enough to access the condenser,  do I need to remove the fans only to get in to check it's clean?
