2.6 cdx Traction control and auto gear box lights
« on: 03 May 2017, 08:47:55 »

Hi, Can anybody please help.
The gear selection lights on my Omega 2.6 cdx Auto all come on together when I select a gear and when I reverse the traction control light and the service light comes on. If I stop the engine and then restart and select drive the lights go out and it drives as normal. But sometimes when I am driving slow the traction control comes in and the service light comes on and when I stop I need a lot of revs to move off. I stop the engine and start up again and ever thing is fine  . I have a button for the traction control but it seems to do nothing.
Cheers, DMC

Might be a long shot but I had this on my senator. It would stick in winter mode or a get home mode, seemed to lock into 2nd or 3rd, would hardly move, I had to manually put in 1st to move it. It was the selector switch that was needing cleaned out.

Pedal trick won't reveal gearbox codes... The exception being the Dead Box one from the engine ecu ;)

Yep, I suspect you have something upsetting either the gearbox ECU or the ABS/TC. These are quite closely linked so an error in one can often put the other in "limp home".

You could really do with getting the codes read from these systems, so ideally a Tech 2 would be required.

I suspect your gear selector switch is playing up and needs cleaning...
