Gasket doesn't look to bad.............and why woudl it be metal....its the inlet with nice cold air passing through it....

Make sure you clean the edge of the throttle disc!

All cleaned with carb cleaner, holes check with wires (Cheers AA)

Cleaned and replaced all the parts, everything now back on the car, except cam cover and aux belt.

Although, I think we know that for the first 85k of its life, the car was never properly serviced, hence why you need to do it all now...

i had a scam e-mail the other day, about my Barclays account asking to confirm my details.

You have to be careful with these things, mijifife another clue was he kept referring to your car as an "item" also he is based in the U.S.A  ;)

I had my eBay hacked a year or so ago, never filled in any forms so don't know how it happened. But i am always extra careful looking at emails from any company's that have my credit card details on file  :y

At the risk of a family break up you've got to try it tunnie. Nothing like it and yes was well impressed by the dvd, but what about the camera man?  he had a mad russian bike for a while ::)

Tbh i'd love to go around Europe on a bike, but it would be far too dangerous.

Its just totally different, clutch is finger controlled, gears by slight movement of the foot. Just got to give it a go!!  ;D
Not sure I'd fancy Europe on my bike - fuel stop every 160 miles, and a sore arse. And all the protective gear in hot weather...

You need a tourer really, Long Way Round used those BMW bikes Ewan's back was straight as he was riding so it's a very upright bike.

It looked great on the DVD, but i think a 3.0 V6 could be more fun in the Alps  ;D

I'm a biker...got my own fast road/advanced bike school.... www.Road-Riders.com

I'd suggest a ZX12R if you're a big bloke...can easily be modded to push out 185-ish bhp at rear wheel

I've always fancied learning to ride a motorbike. I cycle to uni and wished i could just twist the bar to go faster  ;)

Where abouts are you Andy, just took a look at your website. Very reasonable prices  :y

Sorry fella,

I dont 'do' learners...I take you to the next levels once you get your full licence

Ah ok don't worry m8 only wondering, not even got a CBT yet!

Would your Mum allow it  ::)

Nope!  >:( - I point out she had several horses that can do 30mph flat out weigh 2 ton, and don't have any brakes.

My dad had a bike when he was at Brunel uni too, but he also says no  >:(
After sliding the ZX10 up the road 18 months back, I can confirm they can hurt  :-[

My dad came off on ice several times, shook his confidence i think.

Mates dad has a bike too, what puts me off is the high insurance and all the gear you have to buy.

Something i might do when i am earning money again, i see there is a school in Brackley someware, see them go up my road.

watching Long Way Round (got it on dvd now) really made me want to get a bike.

If anyone has not seen it, highly recommend. Ewan McGreggor and his mate Charlie take a couple of BMW bikes around the world!!

Bet that company who turned them down is pissed off, the DVD sales of it apparently are huge!
