Afternoon , one and all !

Anyone removed a 2.2 exhaust manifold yet !
Idealy a " how to " would be great, but all i really need to know is everything workable / accessable if studs break ! Can a normal drill be used etc etc

I think the manifold replacement is similar to my 2.0

Picture is of the 2.2 engine.

Remove the heatshield. (3x star bolts)

Then from underneath, the cat to manifold join is held together by 4 bolts. (13mm socket on mine)

Then remove the 10 bolts to the manifold and the manifold should be able to be lifted out. (13mm socket on mine)

If a stud was to break space is limited but if you can get your hands on a right angled drill that may help.

Soak the studs well the night before with good penetrating fluid.
