« on: 23 June 2016, 22:37:01 »
Just wondering if we have any Slovakian members on here as I am travelling over to Slovakia next weekend and may need some work done on my aircon whilst over there. The area I am travelling to is Cilistov but could travel to Bratislava to have work done. Need a recommendation for a garage please.

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Rubber drainage plug
« on: 29 February 2016, 19:16:49 »
Not really sure what it is called but it is the rubber drainage plug that sits below the cabin filter. Mine is missing and thinking with one in it may help with the misting up problem. Car is a 2.6 Estate 2001. Pretty sure a saloon one will fit also.

Omega General Help / Malfunction indicator
« on: 25 August 2015, 12:16:22 »
Hello everyone

On towing the caravan home the other day the warning light came on. Car is running fine apart from the spanner light illuminated. Took the car for a drive yesterday and although the light went off it soon came back on again. Did the pedal test and code 0650 came up indicating Malfunction Indicator Control Circut/High/Low/Open.
What does this mean and how do you rectify it.

Thanks for looking. Car is 2.6 CDX Estate.

General Car Chat / Air con

Has anyone had experience or knowledge of fitting an Omega air con system to Senny. Thinking of getting this done on my car by my local garage. Hope to get as much info as possible to pass on to them as to make the job easier. Have also posted a similar question on the ABS forum.

General Discussion Area / Applying spray paint
« on: 17 April 2015, 19:25:56 »
Hello everyone
Bought a compressor with a spray gun the other week. My front bumper was slightly damaged whilst in Italy and instead of giving it to a body shop to repair I decided to do it myself. Removed the bumper and all fixings lightly sanded the surface and purchased some paint, thinner and lacquer from a local paint supplier. All is going well and the bumper has come out a treat. My question is how do you get a smooth surface once lacquer has been applied. New to this spraying lark but really enjoying the great finish. Would just like some helpful tips.

Omega General Help / Fuel pump
« on: 04 February 2015, 21:35:17 »
Hello everyone,
My Omega 2.6 has not started for about a week now. Checked fuel and nothing coming thru. Car went to the garage yesterday for new tyres and exhaust, asked them to fix the non starting. They checked the fuel pump and it was working but still no fuel pumping thru. They checked the rest of the system and it was fine. Eventually they removed the fuel pump cleaned it out and it started. The fuel pump appeared to be clean when they removed it so not sure what the problem was. The thing is the car is going for a long journey to Italy in April and wondering if I should change the pump. Phoned Autovaux and the price is around £120.00. Has anyone had this problem before and had to buy a new pump. Apparently 2.5,3.0 is different.

Omega General Help / Tyres
« on: 16 January 2015, 21:41:47 »
Need a whole new set of tyres for my estate. Don't really want to do budget brand. Had a look online at different makes ie Dunlop, Michelin etc. They all seem to be in the price range of about £90.00. Had a look at Falken Ziex ZE914 coming in around £66.00. Read the reviews and seem quite good. Has anyone on here had them fitted and experience with them.

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Headlight required
« on: 07 September 2014, 19:03:33 »
Hello all,

The offside headlamp on my Omega has gone all hazy and unfortunately will not polish up no matter what I try to do. Really the only answer is to replace it. So if anyone has a headlamp offside in good condition for sale please contact me. The car is a 2.6 CDX but I think it is the standard lights as on the CD as no washer jets are fitted.

I feel fortunate to live quite close to Bournemouth airport in fact very close. Every now and then I get to see some special aircraft flying low over my house  including  Concorde when it was flying, the Flying Fortress, Mustang, Red Arrows and various other aircraft. Most of the time I am just in the garden minding my own business then something interesting fly's over. Today it was two Spitfires and both Lancasters. Awesome sight and beautiful to watch and listen to. Bournemouth airshow next weekend so it should be a real treat.
