Yes to undoing the damper from the trailing arm, however there is a nut under the trailing arm which holds the lower spring mounting and the "bolt" that this screws onto has a tendency to spin when undoing the nut Volvo in their wisdom gave this "bolt" a round flat head [rather like a rivet]making it hard to get a decent grip on especially as it's in the centre of the spring coils.
Not saying what she's said about Rishi/the government but why then did she stay so long and not resign sooner? Could it be that she was hanging on for a peerage, which she's not got and only then chucked her toys out of the pram?
Took V70 for M.o.T. it failed :'( Fortunately it was only on a broken rear spring so as soon as the new ones arrive [although only one is broken I'm replacing both as it's stupid not to]it'll be a case of getting out and under to fit those.
Got to a set of traffic lights yesterday morning and a petrol station just beyond the lights had 147.8[E10]and 151.8[diesel]on their electronic sign.Stooped at the lights as they were on red,by the time they'd changed to green the petrol station sign had changed to 148.8 and 152.8 respectively No fuel tanker in sight so it wasn't even as though they'd had a delivery
Removed throttle body from the V70 and partly stripped it in the hope of finding a cause for the position sensor code I've been getting.Found what looked to me to be a couple of dodgy contacts so made those better, reassembled and re-installed throttle body all seems good so far.
Foam on mine is removed without issues, although I seem to remember TB saying it makes the car noisier inside[?].However I've never noticed any particular difference in noise levels.
Last weekend I helped change the gearbox[6 speed manual]on a 1.6 turbo Astra GTC which had just short of 80,000 miles on it.the new[second hand]gearbox was from a similar car but with only 30,000 miles on it.
