Yeah, I thought of that, but your reg is show wherever you go, it could happen at any time. I guess if you want to be ultra careful it's probably a good idea, more chance of my plates getting nicked & used around here!

Plates!!!!!!!! ; got more chance of the whole car going missing there ;D

Seriously though, if someone nicks your i.d in Cov, theres a chance you will see it. If you've got your car on ebay for example, someone in Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow or anywhere could steal your i.d and no one would ever know

Good point, but if that were the case & there was an incident it would be easy to prove you were nowhere near, much harder if it was local & hasn't the DVLA got some super duper computer system that logs everything, but I guess if you're in the know; there's ways around it.
